Trackworks 2026

Trackworks

Trackworks — a showcase built around live sets, DJ performances, and real-time visuals — evolves into a festival in its third year: a convergence of live electronic music, real-time visual coding, and grassroots experimentation hosted at Pittsburgh's Tech25. Developed in partnership with the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University, this year's festival aims to feature Carnegie Mellon alumni — including audiovisual artist crobo and computational visualist Char Stiles — performing and sharing their practice through artist talks and lectures, with live music coder DJ_Dave headlining, bridging the stage and the classroom.

Trackworks reflects what DETOUR has always been: a small crew with deep love for the wide world of underground electronic music, learning as we go, building something one night at a time. This year we're pushing into new territory — exploring what happens when code, rhythm, and light collide in real time, in a space built for hands-on education. Live coded visuals are the focus for this edition, but Trackworks isn't defined by any single medium. It's a platform for experimentation, for bringing new energy to Pittsburgh, and for inviting the next wave of artists and technologists to be part of it.
